Link to Virtual Exhibition - https://www.artsteps.com/view/616797faab0a36bd4ccc363e Being in lockdown and unable to install in person, I decided to create a virtual exhibition for my work on Artsteps. The immersive experiencing of my work is significant, and I didn't think the same could be achieved with individual videos. Being in a virtual space, there is theContinue reading "Virtual Exhibition"
Crystal suncatchers
As a child I was always pleasantly surprised by the light my suncatcher would produce, creating rainbow prisms across my walls. I want to share that same wonderment and mesmerizing effect of light with others. https://streamable.com/4yyrv6 https://streamable.com/pnecc5 https://streamable.com/agjvmc
Sunset reflections
I've shifted towards building more video works, and experimenting with a focus on light to further develop the ideas of the original shadow video. I'm thinking about the aesthetics of the everyday. The beauty in the little things that go unnoticed and the act of noticing these things. As well as the meditative sort ofContinue reading "Sunset reflections"

Overhead Photography
There's something about the overhead that creates a retro yet spooky impression. I like the blurry and rainbow refractions that can be seen. It follows the same ideas of the seen and the unseen, destruction & restoration and working with refractions.
Light experimentation with ceramic
Keeping to ideas of the seen and unseen; destruction and restoration; and light refraction. I experimented with creating patterns with light through the broken yet held together ceramic vessels I had. This cup cracked but held together, making it similar in concept to my framed glass pieces. I like the way light interacts with theContinue reading "Light experimentation with ceramic"
Light video
A mystery is held by the video, where the original source of light is not visible. We only see the refracted blur of light the window projects, and the shadows of something unseen on the wall. An ever present but unseen presence. The shadows cast, perhaps by some passing storm, creates a mesmerizing display. AsContinue reading "Light video"
Breaking glass
Originally inspired by a drawing I did of broken glass, I liked the idea of having glass held within a frame, so found picture frames from an op shop. There's something about finding objects with a history too which I find fascinating. I found the most the most effective way the smash the glass wasContinue reading "Breaking glass"
Smashing ceramic test
I wanted to test out the difference between dropping bisque and glazed fired clay. To do this I used the spray booth, as it is an enclosed safe space to test something like this. I wore safety googles, but what I didn't take into account was the noise that the fired clay ones made, theyContinue reading "Smashing ceramic test"
Breaking glass and the act of destruction
Successfully smashed a hole through a pane of glass, using a hammer and nail, and an old photo frame. What does it mean to destroy something? and in this case glue the pieces together, as well as keep it in its frame, it creates this bizarre quite intriguing object. Where it is questioned how itContinue reading "Breaking glass and the act of destruction"
