I chose clay for its malleability quality, its ability to shape and change. I began shaping it in whichever way seemed right. Not quite knowing what it will become. I liked the way in which it seemed to perform with a life of its own. The piece of clay, slowing started looking a bit like a tree stump, so I embraced this, the clay slowly coming to life. I also like clay for its reusable quality. The clay I used, came from a pile of un-fired clay heads. A clay which has had a history.
