The clay pieces, gradually disintegrate into dust refer to the process of how clay is reused. The gestural half circle, links to ideas of transition. The tree stump piece, the clay head remains, and clay in itself link to this concept of time and decay.

I chose clay for its malleability quality, its ability to shape and change. I began shaping it in whichever way seemed right. Not quite knowing what it will become.
